Childrens Talk 29th November, 2020

2 Corinthians 4 v 8-9: We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.

What a blessing and a privilege it is, to come and stand in the presence of the Lord through the gift of prayer.

When we bring our prayers today, remember that you are talking to the maker of the heavens and the earth, and when you pray your almighty God is listening to your prayers, both the prayers you pray out loud and the prayers which you will pray from the depths of your heart.

As you come before Him today, we pray you will know His presence in a very special way, and we pray He hears and answers our prayer for His glory.

We look forward to seeing you all at 7.30pm tonight via zoom, to close out the day of prayer as we thank the Lord for the time we have had with him.

Romans 8 v 26: In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.

Below is a list of prayer items you can pray about, but you will have many more things to say and bring before your Lord.

Prayers of Praise.

  • Thank the Lord for His faithfulness and love in all things.

  • Thank the Lord for who He is and for all His attributes.

  • Even though we can’t meet together as we would like, we still thank the Lord for the freedom we have to praise and worship Him and for the technology to stream services.

  • Thank the Lord for the blessings we have as a nation compared to so many others around the world.

  • Pray that we would use every resource we have to bring glory and honour to the name of the Lord.

  • Praise God for His Love shown at Christmas, through sending His Son to earth from heaven to die so that we might have life.

Prayers for the sick, both in our Church family and in the world.

  • Pray for those who are mourning the loss of loved ones, and not only those who have been affected by Covid but all illnesses, pray they would find comfort in turning to the Lord.

  • Pray for an end to the Covid pandemic, and for people to be kept safe across the world.

  • Prayer for those who are in authority over us, pray they will be given wisdom and compassion.

  • Pray for those who are caring for the sick and needy, that they would be blessed and protected.

  • Pray for those in our own fellowship who are far from well at this time.

  • Pray for the healing of those who are fighting cancer at this time.

  • Pray for those who are frail and nearing the time they will see their saviour, Jesus Christ.

Prayers for the Gospel to touch people.

  • Pray that we might see souls won through what limited things we can do as a church.

  • Pray for likeminded Gospel church’s, that they might be encouraged and blessed in seeing souls won for the sake of the gospel too.

  • Pray for those who feel uncertain and fearful about the future, that they will find certainty and hope in the Lord.

  • Pray that people would remember the real reason for Christmas and see beyond just trappings of the season.

Prayer for our own Church’s needs.

  • Pray for our own Church in praying for unity and love to reign amongst us.

  • Pray that we can start to meet together very soon, pray that we might be able to start using the village hall again soon.

  • Pray for guidance as we think about a future home for the church.

  • Pray for guidance as we search for new people to work amongst us and especially in our search for a new person to work is a Pastoral and Leadership capacity.

  • Pray for those people who are feeling down and are struggling emotionally at this time.

  • Pray for the families and the other contacts made through our church ministries, pray they would remember they are loved by us but most importantly by the Lord

  • Pray that the Lord would teach us how to be better disciples of Jesus, people who are seeking to be more Christlike in how we live and serve.

  • Pray that Gods word might speak words of direction, wisdom, comfort, and rebuke, as we listen to and learn from our heavenly father.

Prayers for our missionary and Gospel friends.

  • Pray for the work of Morning star, pray for protection for Joan, her staff and all the Children and please pray that the children through the love they receive, would come to love Jesus.

  • Pray for the work of Caring For Life. Praise the Lord for souls saved during this period, but pray for those who are struggling with the thought of being alone at Christmas.

  • Pray for the work in Albania, and especially pray for Jorgo and Eli as they lead the Churches out there. Pray for Richard and Linda as they seek to support those churches from the UK.

  • Pray for the Slavic Gospel association, pray they would still be able to build churches and equip new men and women for ministry.

  • Pray for the Haiti Baptist Mission as they care and minister to that desperate country.

  • Pray for the Church in Iran. Praise God for the amazing things He is doing there but pray for protection on our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Proverbs 3:5-6:Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

1 Timothy 2 v 1: I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name.

Your Kingdom come,

your will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And Forgive us our sins,

as we forgive those who sin against us.

Lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For thine is kingdom,

the power and the glory.

for ever and ever.

Psalm 46

1 God is our refuge and strength,
    an ever-present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
    and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
3 though its waters roar and foam
    and the mountains quake with their surging.

4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
    the holy place where the Most High dwells.
5 God is within her, she will not fall;
    God will help her at break of day.
6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
    he lifts his voice, the earth melts.

7 The Lord Almighty is with us;
    the God of Jacob is our fortress.

8 Come and see what the Lord has done,
    the desolations he has brought on the earth.
9 He makes wars cease
    to the ends of the earth.
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
    he burns the shields with fire.
10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
    I will be exalted among the nations,
    I will be exalted in the earth.”

11 The Lord Almighty is with us;
    the God of Jacob is our fortress.
